Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, continuously strives to foster a multigenerational passion for cars and bring together automotive enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. One of the ways the auction company does this is through QuikTrip Family Day, which will be held at WestWorld on Sunday, Oct. 13, during the 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction, presented by Gila River Resorts & Casinos.
On Family Day, children 12 years old and younger will receive free admission to the auction with a ticketed adult. Auction activities offer something for the whole family, including live music, the sponsor pavilion, Thrill Rides, the World Food Championships, shopping in the exhibitor marketplace and the Future Collector Car Show (FCCS).
The auction, which runs from Thursday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 13, will feature hundreds of No Reserve collector cars and automobilia items. Auction vehicles and automobilia items will be on display throughout the four-day event.
Family Day will kick off with the Automobilia Auction in the arena at 9 a.m. This well-loved daily affair highlights unique automotive collectibles that range from antique gas pumps to illuminated neon signs, vending machines and beyond. After automobilia has had its turn on the block and the national anthem will be presented as part of a patriotic salute in the auction arena. Then the action revs into high gear at noon with the main event: the Collector Car Auction, which will feature a diverse array of vintage and modern-day vehicles on the block.
In addition to all the action on the auction block, attendees can elevate their Barrett-Jackson experience even more with adrenaline-pumping Thrill Rides on the Barrett-Jackson Performance Track. Guests age 8 (or 48 inches tall) and above can ride as a passenger in the latest Dodge and Toyota vehicles with a professional driver at the wheel – and it’s included with admission to the auction. For those age 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license who want to get behind the wheel themselves, Dodge is offering off-site driving experiences in the Hornet at Gate 2.
A notable attraction on Family Day is the Future Collector Car Show, a family-friendly event dedicated to celebrating the passion and honoring the craftsmanship of the next generation of collector car enthusiasts. This year’s Fall FCCS will feature a wide range of makes and models, including original, restored and custom builds from the 1980s forward that reflect Barrett-Jackson’s commitment to preserving the future of the hobby. It is an experience where guests from every generation find common ground in their love of vehicles that represent the future of the collector car hobby.
In addition to FCCS, Family Day includes the final day of the Southwest Chef Showdown Culinary Competition (a qualifying event for the 12th Annual World Food Championships, which are held Nov. 8-12 in Indianapolis). The Southwest Chef Showdown is included with admission for all Barrett-Jackson attendees. A range of contestants, from self-taught to professionally trained chefs, will compete in a series of kitchen arena challenges throughout the day. Two contestants will go head-to-head in a timed challenge. A panel of food judges will award one winner from each segment.
Throughout the entire four-day Fall Auction, guests will be able to enjoy an enhance experience at the Gila River Patio. Located near the staging lanes and open to all auction attendees, it offers an elevated dining experience and a premium view of the collector cars as they approach the arena for their turn on the block. Other highlights include the Adam’s Polishes Detailing Clinic, which takes place in the Adam’s Polishing Detailing Tent near the Midway from 2 to 3 p.m. each day. The clinic goes over tips and tricks on how to give any car the best possible shine inside and out.
